Dr. Jason Shafer created Weather Litigation Services, LLC to bring the best weather analysis to the courtroom when weather events are involved in litigation. His experience as an academic, teacher, and meteorologist makes his well suited to serve as an expert witness.
Dr. Shafer caught the weather bug at an early age in the hills of New Jersey. As a young kid he would wake up wicked early on snow days putting his homemade snowplow to work. Whether it was a big snowstorm or a summer thunderstorm, he was drawn to the power of the changing weather and wanted to know the answers to how the weather works.
This inquiry lead him to Plymouth State University where he earned a B.S. in Meteorology and then to the University of Utah for his graduate work (M.S. and Ph.D. in Meteorology). He then chose to share this passion through teaching the next generation of meteorologists how to analyze and forecast the weather at Lyndon State College, where he is a tenured Associate Professor.
The challenge of understanding the past and predicting future weather never gets old. Jay lives in the beautiful hills of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom where he can be seen on his tractor or running the back roads.
